What is the best way to get rid of Blackheads?

So i have alot of blackheads, mostly on forehead and nose.

I have tried nearly EVERYTHING. ProActiv, Clean %26amp; Clear, Clearasil and everything off the shelf. They just dont budge!!!!

I really need help, whether its homemade or just natural ways to get rid of them, anything i could use.

i have even tried the, ';stick your head in steam and then stick your head in the freezer!';

I need advice from people who have had the same problem. i cant go to the doctor, no money.

Something affordable and that Actually WORKS!!

please help, i will return the favor by answering your questions!!What is the best way to get rid of Blackheads?
I have LOTS of deep blackheads, but for the smaller, newer, and not as deep ones, rubbing alcohol helped (you might want to dilute it because it's a little harsh) or you can use hydrogen peroxide (not as harsh, but doesn't work AS well) I also use baking soda+water. How I got rid of mine was:

Rubbing alcohol twice a day

(Next day)-hydrogen peroxide then baking soda as a scrub after a shower

then keep alternating or maybe use rubbing alcohol then hydrogen peroxide...whatever you find works! You can also use baking soda every day, but don't rub it too hard, just do it lightly. Good luck! What is the best way to get rid of Blackheads?
Dear Poppy, I wouldn't waste my money on over the counter products. When I was having a problem with blackheads I went to a day spa and had a cleansing facial. Not only was it fabulous, but the esthetician extracted all the blackheads safely and easily, using a professional tool and the correct products. It was really worth it. She also helped me with a skin regimen that I could live with and afford. Nothing worse is wasting money on products that don't work. Go to a professional...you won't be sorry.
The strips you leave on for 15minutes work well. The key is to after the dirt is pulled out to shrink your pores, or they will fill with dirt/sebum again.

Cold is a start, but do a little research on the shrinking if you decide to try some strips.
if you can find it, witch hazel powder, just rub it into the area and it goes, if not powder try the oil.
wash your face more
Blackheads usually appear on oily skin so if you touch your face a lot STOP! It also shows a sign of acne so use my help below or you will end up with acne.Have you tried the clean %26amp; clear blackhead remover, if not try it, it really works. Also try an exfoliating mask it will get deep inside your skin and should help at my local stores they cost around a dollar. They both worked with me. Here is a home recipe that i have had for a few months but i have not tried it because the clean %26amp; clear remover works with me but here it is

Two tablespoons of orange peel powder (just shred it as small as you can), add four tablespoons of yogurt (any kind) and apply to your face in a circular motion, then rinse with cold water and pat dry.

Another recipe: This one i did try and it really worked

mix coconut water with sugar and scrub on your face

Just in case those don't work here are some tips that help

1.Change your pillow case frequently not every day just every week or two.

2.Make sure you have one towel that you use just for your face the oil on your body does not need to be spread on your face, also change that towel every three days

3.When you wash your face or use masks you need to widen your pores this gives the treatment more access to the inside where all the oil is. You can widen your pores by closing the bathroom door, filling the sink with HOT! Water and adding some herbs such as basil in the water.

4.Make your own mask studies show natural products work better on your face than having chemicals do their work. Here is a recipe for a mask:

1 cup of oatmeal

1 teaspoon of baking soda

3 teaspoons of Aloe Vera juice

Mix together apply to face immediatly, leave on for five min., do it twice a week for better results

if you do not have Aloe Vera just mix 2 tablespoons of oatmeal and 1 tablespoon of HOT water mix till it becomes a paste then apply to face, leave on for 15 min, do this once a week

-sorry its so long but all of these things work depending on skin type seeing as i do not know yours i just gave many choices hope i helped

I have tried a lot of combinations to get rid of my acne and I finally came up with a combination that has actually made my horrible acne go away. I use the Neutrogena Rapid Clear, CVS brand black and pore cleanser and Stridex Intensive Acne Repair. It has gel in the lid and pads in the main part. When I am short on time I can skip the first two steps and use the pads and the gel. It actually doesn't dry my skin out as much as I thought it would. I tried Pro-Active, I have pretty much tried EVERYTHING! but this combination really works. The only thing that worked out of the Pro-Active was the face moisturizer and again it is the only thing I found that didn't make my face break out. So maybe if you try my combinations it might work for you. :)Remedies for gettin rid of acne and acne scars blackheads%26amp;%26amp;would this brand of toothpaste be ok for pimple?

What is the best way to get rid of blackheads? & what does exfoliate mean to do?

No matter how much i wash my face with clean and clear kit, it doesn't help. My nose ecspecially, but my whole face has blackheads and i want to start school tomorow looking nice. I cant buy anything right now, because i dont drive. (14 yrs old) Also, my parents are busy and tired from the big bar-b-q we had yesterday. What does it mean to exfoliate and how shoul i do it? I have tried putting spot treatment, but its not helping! what should i do? What is a home remedy that works.

BTW i tried aspirin. What is the best way to get rid of blackheads? %26amp; what does exfoliate mean to do?
right this is quick and easy and works really well and its free =) right get a flannel and put it in really hot water and then hold then flannel onto the affected area for 12 seconds. then remove it and with some toilet paper over your fingers gently sqeeze the blackheads until thewy come out. repeat it until youve got them all out. then rinse your face with just warm water. your skin will be a little blotchy but by tomrow itll be really nice. you may have to sqeeze quite hard to get some of them out. youll be really disgusted by what you get out on the toilet paper espeacially from the sides of your nose. What is the best way to get rid of blackheads? %26amp; what does exfoliate mean to do?
Exfoliate is to remove dead dry skin cells. You will need to use a really warm wash cloth almost to the point of burning, but dont burn yourself, Hold it to your nose until all the greasy stuff trapped inside sortof melts and your pores will open. If you have huge black heads use the end of an old pen and gently push the skin around it but not on it. If they are small, the wash cloth should clear them up. Oh, make it soapy water, that helps. :)
exfoliate means taking all the dirt and crap out of your pores, which is what blackheads are. take a loofa or something and GENTLY scrub your face thats wet.
problems with black heads?

rub lemon on ur face...

look it up.

works WONDERS for me.
Same for me! Ok do this.

Right now, go put on a pot of boiling water and let it boil. when it stops, pour the water into a big bowl. get 4 washcloths and soak then in the hot water for 3 minutes. then, put a washcloth directly on your face. let it sit for about 4 minutes. then take it off and get 2 tablespoons of baking soda and a few drops of water and mix it together in a small cup. it should become like a paste. then take the paste and spread it onto your face. massage it in for a few minutes to the areas that are bad. then, rinse it off with warm water. now try and pop the blackheads with your fingers. take another wash cloth that is warm and leave it on your face for a few minutes. take the wash cloth off and then wash your face with an anti-bacterial soap(like Dial, the one that you use to wash your hands in the bathroom) and rinse with cold water. keep rinsing with cold water for a minute. then your done! relax for a while. have a cup of tea or something and then relax. every hour just rinse your face with cool water.

whenever you dry your face, always dry it with a clean wash cloth.

if you happen to have an avacado around, then just peel it and take out the pit and put it in a bowl and mash it up with a little honey, about 1 teaspoon of salt and then a few drops of water. mash it up and then apply to your face. leave on for 20 to 30 minutes and then rinse off with cool water.

before bed, put ice in a bag and put it on your face where it is swollen for about 10 minutes.

Also, before bed, just wash your face with antibacterial soap (like Dial, what I was talking about above). and dont put anything else on your face.

keep your hair out of your face while you sleep and also, change your pillow case and sheets before you sleep tonight.

good luck!
Spot treatments don't work for blackheads. Spot treatments are for acne, acne is a small infection and blackheads are just dirt and stuff gathered up in one pore, just like acne only it's not an infection. So if you use Spot treatments on blackheads, it will just get the spot treatment inside the blackhead and gather more dirt. Here are some home made remedies (BTW, only wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night):

Baking Soda Solution

You will need 1 tbsp. baking soda, 1 tbsp. water. Mix together ingredients and apply on face allowing it to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it with warm water. Baking Soda is very cheap and one box will last you a very long time. You can also use baking soda as an exfoliator: be careful when applying it to your face, since it is a very effective scrub. Massage the baking soda into your skin for ten to fifteen seconds and rinse. Your face is now clear of the surface cells that will cause many acne spots.

Honey Yogurt Exfoliating Facial Scrub

Mix 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar with 陆 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of plain yogurt. Smooth the mixture over your face and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off using lukewarm water.

Oatmeal Exfoliating Facial Scrub

Mix one pack of instant oatmeal with water to create a paste. Once the paste is formed, dab the mixture onto your entire face. Let the mixture set for approximately 2 minutes and rinse off with cold water. According to experts oily skin should be treated with an oatmeal mask to get good results. Oatmeal when mashed not only acts as a great scrub but also effectively soaks away the excess oil from your face. The usage of oatmeal paste must be followed by a cold water rinse that helps in contracting the pores.

Seawater

Wash your face twice a day in warm, salty water. This helps leave your face clean and oil-free -- without employing any potentially irritating products or soaps.

  • Is this a good method for getting rid of blackheads?

i saw this on a website and it looked strange

';Smash asprin/motrin tablets till it turn into powder like substance than mix that with lemon juice 鈥?GET a piece of cloth soak it in it than rubb it where black heads or pimples appear鈥?.leave it on for about 15 mins鈥?you will see your blackheads just peeling out or you might need to rubb your finger against it to take the blackheads out鈥?.at last WASH your face鈥?.

    CAUTION!!!!

    IT STINGS BUT WORKS GREAT!!!!!!

try it鈥︹€?';Is this a good method for getting rid of blackheads?
ewy!Is this a good method for getting rid of blackheads?
You need to watch doing that.....it could leave small scars! If you try a ';scrub'; for your face or even a ';mask';, it might do less damage. I have found that the face washes with small ';scrubbing'; beads do wonders without hurting your skin. good luck
ahh dont try it.get the neutrogena wave.heres some links

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3WwE2p1c鈥?/a>

buy them at target or walmart or anywhere.i think clean and clear just made one exactly like the wave and they said it was for blackheads.so theyre basicaly the same:))
well if its on a website on the internet, then it has reason to hold true right?

Idk, I havent tried that... but you can go to wal mart and they sell some decent face wash for that.
uh is that a question ?

    ha

What's an effective way to get rid of blackheads?

What's an effective way OTHER than going to a facial expert (not actually sure if these chinese are ';dermatoligists'; since they are just ladies starting their own businesses...). It's because I don't like visiting them although they seem to work better than any product I've seen.

I have a lot of blackheads. I've tried a LOT of stuff and recently I've been using:

    - Maria Galland Paris Mask that I was instructed to put on for 30 min. Take off and then use Oxygen Boatnicals Oxygen Oily combination (Dilated Pores Serum). I think this managed to decrease the blackness... but the bheads are still there. The set was 80 bucks.

    - So it didn't work and I tried something cheap because it might actually work... I bought Neutrogena Blackhead Cleansing pads. They don't seem to work either.

So what should I do?... They've been on my nose since childhood =S and they're annoying. What's an effective way to get rid of blackheads?
Cleanse the face thoroughly with a good cleanser meant for oily skin. Preferrably use a salicylic acid cleanser.

Apply an astringent like witch hazel. It helps reduce oiliness. If its a bit harsh mix a bit of rose water in it.

Apply a good quality medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. You can get creams or gels of Benzoyl Peroxide treating blackheads If benzoyl peroxide leaves your skin dry, apply an oil-free moisturizer after 10 mins of applying benzoyl peroxide.

Effective Tips to get rid of blackheads

鈥xfoliate the blackhead prone area 3-4 times a week using facial exfoliators and scrubs.

鈥se creams containing AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Fruit acids) like glyco-creams that will clear away any dead skin cells and ';expose'; the blackhead. Use the AHA's every 3 days or so.

鈥void washing the face with soaps more than twice a day. Instead wash your face often with plain water splashes.

鈥ften use a mask with a clay base.

If blackheads look ready to pop out, you could try removing them gently by using a blackhead extractor. Also, Pore cleanser strips (blackhead extractor) for removal of blackheads are highly recommended for the treatment/removal of blackheads. Using them once per week will leave your pores cleaner and smaller.

Steam your face to soften both the skin and the material blocking the pores.

=)What's an effective way to get rid of blackheads?
    this is what i do!

    use baking SODA not powder!

like a tablespoon or so and mix water with it in a bowl apply to face for about 2 - 3 min (if you leave it on longer it will burn your face) then wash off with warm water then POP the black head out!

the baking soda loosens the black head from it's root!
use products that contain scalic acid
My daughter liked the biore nose strips but they worked only on her nose.
