Neutrogena Wave or Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser?

Which one should I buy? I don't really have acne but i'm looking for something to wash my face, and get those little blackheads on my nose. If I get the blackhead eraser,do I have to wash my face too before I use it? Or does it also serve as a cleanser?

Thanks!Neutrogena Wave or Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser?
Definitely the Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser. The Neutrogena Wave smells great and it does get your face really clean, but the black head eraser is by far the best i have ever tried and believe me i've tried everything, this thing is better than proactive, acne free, biore and other Clean and clear products. Stop wasting your time and money on products that don't work and try this for sure. Good luck girl!Neutrogena Wave or Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser?
I have the wave. I also use apricot scrub from saint Ives. I would recommend both. The Apricot scrub doesn't get rid of black heads but it definitely cleans your pores and leaves your face smooth. I Just bought the wave today. It seems to work well. I saw immediate results Report Abuse

i have neutrogena blackhead eliminating daily scrub and it is amazing. it really does get rid of the black heads. i still have large pores, so i'll need to find something to help with that. i'm not sure if the wave works, or if it does if it also tighten pores.

Does anyone know of spot/blackhead treatments that actually work?

I'm a young woman of 24 who still suffers from severe acne and have had it since the age of twelve, my doctor has been useless and yet it is hard to believe that in this modern age there isn't something that could cure this, my doctor says it has nothing to do with my diet as I asked her as i'm grasping at straws as to what is causing them, I mainly have severe blackheads rather than red spots buts its really effected my confidence over the years and its now hard just to walk out the door, I have tried so many medications and creams both bought in the chemists and prescribed by my doctor but none have worked, I used one cream for ages but my skin didn't improve and it seemed immune to the cream, its really getting me down as i've had them for so long now and its gotten almost unbearable for me, the doctor dodsn't want to know and the skin specialist (an elderly gentlemen) wasn't interested either, anyone else have this probelm and does anyone have any recommendations or advice, thanks!Does anyone know of spot/blackhead treatments that actually work?
i had the same problem and tried quite a few things over the years. one of the cheaper products i tried that worked very well on me, was pure-pore fection from avon. i used the skin refining mask a couple of times aweek and the cleanser and toner every day. this coupled with a non greasy moisturiser kept my skin good. last year i had a flare up and was treated with a strong antibiotic and a topical cream called duac. my skin was clear within 14 days. good luck.Does anyone know of spot/blackhead treatments that actually work?
seek old wise one fresh tomateo rubbed into skin will help
I had spots which were very painful at times with no forth-coming results from either doctor or hospital so I decided to try a little dab of Iodine on them sometimes I'd cover with a plaster after a day I was able to squeeze them with-out pain and remove heads then put on cream ie TCP they've all now disappeared.
Hi! i am a license Professional Esthetician meaning Professional Skin Care Therapist i been in the beauty business over 20 years and i have seen thousands of woman with your problem! this is what you need to do first of all you need to get a real good facial from someone that has more than 4 years exp. i mean exp. not just a license lingering in there paper work for 4 years. You need extractions that means a deep pore cleansing facial then you need to be on good skin care! using professional products! not some store bought over the counter drug store skin care stuff. Yes diet is very important! to much oil and saturated fats, sugars and no fiber or water, vitamins is very toxic to your skin! Now if your close to Los Angeles, CA i would suggest you see me you will see results in 1 week! but if you are not find a salon that does facials ask to speak to the facialist and look at her skin! and interview her ask her years of exp. and ask her if she uses her hands for extractions if so she is no good!! you need a facial with the facialist using an implement called an extractor! very effective in removing all the blackheads and cloged pores so thats it facials are expensive they run about $90.00 and up for an hour but you can buy a series of facials like for instant 5 for $ 80 and get one free so ask for a series that runs in that range and skin care products you will need a Purifying Gel Cleanser i have a great one for $25.00 it cleanses and removes dead skin and its natural anti-bacterial then i suggest a Lotus Flower and Ginseng Tonic $25.00 to lightly hydrate your skin with out a heavy moisture feeling on your skin that is applied on a cotton ball after you cleanse all over your face to nourish and hydrate and finally a Clay Masque $25.00 very important! you do this once a week for 30 min. then rinse the clay masque. The Clay Masque absorbs excess oil and closes the pores! but of course this should be done after you get a good deep pore cleansing facial! so let me know if you are in L.A. come see me! if not get a good facial i will send you small samples of the product if you wish and you can do mail order skin care from me. Sincerly, Andreah
try proactive and biore strips...and get some more sunlight..
i am using proactive twice a day and always in the morning b/c sometimes i forget at night. Use proactive but use the face scrub in the shower. I mean, shower in the morning and don't put soap on your face, instead of soap, use the scrub from proactive because using too many things can dry up your face. Then after the shower, use the toner and lotion from proactive. Nobody should use soap in the shower on their face, they should keep a facial scrub in the shower for their face instead to prevent over drying and flakes.

Also, about the blackheads, whichever treatment you use, make sure it is after a hot shower because then the pores open up and it will be easier to remove the blackheads.
80-grit sandpaper usually does the trick.
you really should get some strong anti-biotics they work rllyyy good my sister (16) had horrible acne hugee red marks ALL over her face her derm. suggested antibiotics strong ones there pills and ALLLL her acne was gone withing well 2 monthes she had absolutly clear skin!
O.K. i know that it sounds crazy but this seriously works for me.... if you put crest toothpaste on the zits.. it clears them up.. but u have to use crest the other crappy kinds don't work... there ya go .. my secret's revealed!!! i have NO zits at all... haha!!
Acne can be very mild, resulting in a few lone blemishes, or it can be severe when it occurs on the face, neck, shoulders, chest, and back. Pustules and deeper cysts occur with very severe acne and scarring may result if the condition is not cared for properly. These scars may be visible for a lifetime. Here's what your can do to prevent these scars from forming, and treat them if they do develop.

    Preventing Acne Scars

Never pick or squeeze acne blemishes. This can lead to the spread of acne and the development of acne scars. Instead, there are a number of treatment methods that can be used to care for acne and prevent the development of scars. Herbs such as chamomile, lavender, juniper, bergamot, dandelion root, Echinacea, poke root, witch hazel, and burdock root can be used to reduce toxicity, improve the skin's condition and treat acne. Vitamin supplements can also be helpful as vitamins A, C, E and B6 are vital for healthy skin. Also, avoid exposing your skin to the sun's rays. Initially, sun exposure may dry out an acne blemish, but over time, unprotected sun exposure can damage the skin and further aggravate problem acne.

    Types of Acne Scars

Medical professionals have developed a acne scarring classification system that aids in the diagnosis and treatment of many acne scars. Scars may be classified as ice pick, boxcar, or rolling.

    Acne Scars - Ice pick

As their name implies, ice pick acne scars are thin, sharp scars. The skin looks as though it has been sliced with an ice pick. These scars are narrow, but deep, extending into the deep dermis or subcutaneous layer.

    Acne Scars - Boxcar

Unlike ice pick scars, boxcar scars do not taper to a point. Instead, they are round pits that have sharp vertical edges. Skin resurfacing techniques such as dermabrasion or laser resurfacing may be used to treat shallow boxcar scars. Deeper scars require full-thickness treatment techniques.

    Acne Scars - Rolling

Rolling scars appear to have a rolling or undulating texture. They are the result of folds in the skin to the subcutaneous tissue below. Rolling scars must be treated by breaking up the fibrous bands that are causing the skin to fold or roll. Subcutaneous incision is the method most commonly used to treat this condition.

    Acne Scar Treatment

    Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers such as fat, collagen, hyaluronic acid derivatives, and polytheyl-methacrylate microspheres with collagen can be injected into acne scars to raise the surface of the skin and give a smoother look. The injection of dermal fillers does not permanently correct acne scars. The results are temporary, so further injections are necessary.

    Punch Excision

Deep acne scars such as ice pick and deep boxcar scars can be treated with the punch excision method. This procedure uses a punch biopsy tool that looks similar to a round, sharp cookie-cutter. It comes in diameters ranging from 1.5 mm to 3.5 mm, and the correct size can be chosen to match the size of the scar. Local anesthesia is used to remove the scar tissue and suture the edges together. If a new scar should develop in the old one's place, it will now be easier to treat with a skin resurfacing technique.

This technique can also be performed with a skin graft, where the scarred skin is removed and that area is filled with a skin graft taken from behind the ear. Some kind of skin resurfacing technique will still likely be needed to correct any differences in the skin's color and texture.

    Punch Elevation

This method of surgically correcting acne scars uses the same punch tool that is used in the punch excision method. It is used on deep boxcar scars that have sharp edges and normal appearing bases. With the punch elevation method, the base of the scar is excised leaving the walls of the scar intact. The excised base is then sutured to the surface of the skin to fill the void. There are fewer incidences of color and texture differences with this technique and less chance of developing another visible scar.

    Subcutaneous Incision

Rolling scars can be treated with subcutaneous incision. This method is used to break up the fibrous bands that cause the skin to roll or appear undulated. Local anesthesia is inserted under the skin with a special beveled needle that remains parallel to the skin's surface. The needle is then used to gently cut the fibrous bands with a piston like motion. Bruising is likely to occur with this method, but it will usually fade in about one week.

    Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is a popular treatment used to cure many skin defects. Carbon dioxide and YAG lasers are the two most common types used for the laser resurfacing of acne scars. Using the controlled beam of a laser, the top layer of skin is burned to a precise depth. The skin then heals itself by replacing the lost skin with new skin.

Proactive and I swear by it. I've been using it the past four years and it really does give you clear skin again.

They have 3 strengths, the one you see on the commercials is the regular strength. I've recently changed my strength because after my daughter was born (probably wild hormones to blame for this) proactive wasn't as effective as before. So I now use the stronger strength that you have to ask for when you call...they also have another moderate strength that is salicylic acid.

It's an incredible product. Doesn't dry out skin and is very gentle. You'll see results very soon.
i use this nuetragina stuff clearasil and i jis wash my face like normal and i never get any zits i have really clear skin
The best way to get rid of blackheads is to remove the cause of them 鈥?excessive sebum (oil) and dead skin cells. Use only products made with natural ingredients that are not too astringent. Harsh products can strip the skin of oil, causing it to produce more sebum which leads to more blocked pores. I use products that contain natural oils, such as jojoba or coconut oil to cleanse the skin e.g tea tree oil (nose strip).

What Is The Best Way To Get Rid Of A Blackhead Quickly & Without The Pain ?

ahh i have this real big blackhead, i can't get rid of it , %26amp; i popped another one %26amp; it left a scar and its hurts like hell ! what can i do ):What Is The Best Way To Get Rid Of A Blackhead Quickly %26amp; Without The Pain ?
They actually have a thing called a blackhead remover and you can usually buy them at the local pharmacy. The first link below is a list of natural blackhead removers. The second link is an actual blackhead removal tool, the one I had had a little circle on the end of it, not like the one shown. The second remover tool looks a little better than the first one. Good LuckWhat Is The Best Way To Get Rid Of A Blackhead Quickly %26amp; Without The Pain ?
Hey, even using that Blachead remover, you still have to open up your pores by steaming your face over a pot of water over the stove, taking a hot shower or applying a hot washcloth over the infected area then genthly squeeze or use that tool. If you dont remove them, they will double and that area will start to look so ugly. Everyone you talk too can see them by the wat!

Is it true that blackhead extractors are dangerous and can cause internal/brain infections?

While this is an urban legend, it is possible to cause an infection in the skin with the use of a blackhead extractor. It is very rare but possible for an infection on your nose or face to make it to the brain. The risk of a skin infection with the proper use of this equipment is vary minor and the risk of it spreading to the brain is almost all but impossible.

It is good advice to learn to use your extractor correctly. Do not over do it when trying to remove a blackhead, this is where skin damage can happen. If you ever cause bleeding treat it with a topic antibiotic.

Treat any infection seriously no matter what the cause. If you see it spreading see a doctor immediately. Spreading can be seen as streaks (red or white) moving away from the wound or redness increasing around the area.

How effective are biore blackhead strips?

on a scale of one to ten

    would you reccomend them

and could you see your blackheads once torn off ?How effective are biore blackhead strips?
They irritated my skin, leaving it red for hours, even though I don't usually have sensitive skin. Don't use them immediately before an important event. I would give them a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10, because they did seem to take off some blackheads, as evidenced by blackheads visible on the strip once it was removed. But they certainly did not get rid of all my blackheads. How effective are biore blackhead strips?
I'd give them a 5. Yeah, you can see them when you tear them off, but I don't think they actually clear the pores. They just remove the upper part of the blockage.
they can pull hair out also damage skin i don't recommend them
10, i would definately recomend them i made my dad use one and every single black head was torn off, and yes, you can see them after you tear them off %26lt;on the strip not your face%26gt; good luck
I've used them and they seem effective enough. Just make sure when you apply them to really get them wet, otherwise it won't attach to the nose (or other area) enough to grab the blackheads. Wait until it is completely dry (if you are in a hurry, try sitting in front of a fan ) and then grab the edge and then peel it off fast. You will be able to see the black heands on the strip if you do it correctly :) Since it is almost imposible to remove all black heads, I say it is a 9 out of 10.
they definitely work. but the best and cheapest way I found out to get rid of blackheads is using an antibacterial soap everyday to wash your face, like dial. it work better than the strips. It also get rid of oil, dirt, etc...
Its Good, i use it once in a week, to remove black heads and white heads, it is really a good one to get rid of black heads,

If you goto a beauty parlour, they will remove by tweezers which is a very painful process, this is very good, from the scale of 1-10 i can reate 1t as 9.5. No side effects, My fiancee is also using the same one.
oh yeah.. i say it's a 10 b/c i have tried others and none are as good, and yes, you can see the blackheads.. it's quite satisfying to conquer blackheads by the group and not one at a time!
