So, I am 19, a guy.
Have blackheads on my forehead and I should stop picking at them with my nails.
If I go get a facial at a salon, or where?
And would they remove blackheads?
Isn't that kinda embarassing?
Thanks.Would A Facial At A Salon Remove Blackheads?
I've had a lot of facials at spas, and they work really well for removing blackheads and keeping them gone for a month or so. Usually, they offer special facials for acne and blemished skin, or for blackheads, and they'll use steam treatments to open up your pores and then use a large magnifying glass like thing with a bright light to squeeze out any blackheads they can manually remove. After that, they'll use some exfoliators and scrubs to get the rest. Its embarrassing for anyone who goes, but it never is for the person giving it. That's they're job, they get paid for it every day, and they've seen it all. :) It costs anywhere from $50 to maybe $100 depending on where you go and how long you go, or what treatment you want.Would A Facial At A Salon Remove Blackheads?
I'm not sure whether you can remove blackheads at a salon. The removal actually depends upon the treatment and the ingredients being used. A treatment that works really well for getting rid of blackheads is to exfoliate your skin. Exfoliating helps to remove the blackheads as well as to prevent them by decreasing the size of the pores. Blackheads usually appear when the pores get clogged and pores get clogged when they are huge and open. So by exfoliating you would be able to reduce the size of the pores and prevent blackheads. So, this treatment needs to be done regularly for a week to see the results and which I'm sure won't be possible at a salon.
An exfoliant that I would recommend to use at home is Zenmed's AHA/BHA Complex. It contains high grade glycolic acid, purified water and 2% BHA to create a gentle peeling action over the skin to remove blackheads, scar marks, fine lines, dark spots and evens out your skin tone and reduces the size of pores.
You'd need quite a few facials to get rid of blackheads - but just make sure you go to an experienced beauty therapist that can do a full skin analysis for you, and be prepared to spend up big for products between professional facials.. they'll most likely have you buy a cleanser, exfoliant, toner and moisturiser - all suited to your skin type (not cheapo ones from the supermarket) and you'll notice the difference. There's no point in getting facials if you're going to go home and use crappy products, or products that aren't designed for you - that's why so many people have problems with that proactiv stuff.
Also, it's helpful to know that it takes about 2 months for complete cell turnover, so results won't be instant :)
It will work but only if you go regularly and look after your skin properly in between sessions. It is embarrassing to have them so it's less embarrassing to get rid of them. Good Luck, once you do get rid of them it is like being free
My mom gets facials now and then. I know during at least one of them they popped her pimples. She said it surprised her lol. I don't know if it's okay some estheticians do that, but yeah.
I am so sorry, this is not an answer... I just wanted to say thank you for asking this because I had the exact same question.
And don't worry, I don't think that it's embarrassing at all.
