My face was ok until the last 4-5 years, when my face felt rough to the touch. It seems as if grease got trapped under the skin. whenever I squeeze them some white stuff would come out and then the area would become tender, and a large swelling would develop in the location. I am terrible conscious about my face and the way it looks and feel. I have been to the dermotologist and each time I would be prescribed various medication that just seem to work for about a week while others only make the situation worst. I really would like to know what I can do or buy over the counter on my own to help my situation. I am very very frustrated. Help!I am 35 and has terrible acne, blackheads and holes developing on my face what can I use or do to stop this.?
Most acne products only treat the symptoms and not the source. They even make your skin dry, sensitive. Prolonged use can even lead to premature aging and other health issues.
The main causes of acne is toxins build up in the body and clogged pores caused by excessive oil and deadskin cells. THese provide a fertile ground for acne to spread and thrive.
To effectively fight acne and prevent acne from coming back, you have to attack acne from inside the body as well as outside on the skin. So, look for an acne product that fights acne internally as well as externally. They should also contains natural ingredients since they're more safer to use and has less side effects.
There are also things you can do at home to get rid of acne. Take actions to detoxify your body and take care of your skin and soon, you will permanently end your acne and have clear, radiant, beautiful skin!
For the next couple of weeks, stick to the regimen below:
-Drink a glass of warm water with lemon and honey in the morning and evening
-Drink lots of water throughout the day to flush out the toxins
-Drink at least 3 cups of green tea a day - green tea contains antibacterial properties to kill the bacteria
-Try to do some exercise so you can sweat out all the toxins. Also, try to do meditation
-Eat as many apples as you can. You should buy organic apples at Wholefood. Dont buy apples at local supermarket. Supermarket apples contain pesticides that can toxify your body
-Eat oatmeal for breakfast
-Eat 2 cups of yogurt a day - yogurt boost ur immune system and contain microbiotic organisms that help your digestive system and control the acid/yeast
-Eat lots of green veggies (organic if possible)
-Stay away from coffee, sugar, carbohydrates, fatty and fried food
-Eat salmon and cantaloupe as much as possible
-Wash your face in morning and evening with gentle cleanser, use natural toner, and follow up with oil-free moisturizer

Proactive is a good one, however, it can leave a bad reaction on some people.
I would reccomend Clearasil Ultra.
I use it, and I'm 19. and my mother uses it, she is 46.
Works for both of us. People called me crater face...nice huh? And I got that stuff, the commercial doesn't lie.
Clearer skin in 3 days.
I bought La Rouche-Poshe Effacular face wash from my dermatologist and that seemed to help me.
I also hear from many many people that Proactive helps a lot! I have not used it though.
I suggest you stop touching your face, and wash it with warm water and a face cloth every morning.
Good luck!
it seems to me u probably have some kind of hormone inbalance. I would suggest u to get ur hormones checked out by a hormones specialist. most of the time when adults have acne its due to hormones.
I think it sounds some problem in your blood consult with skin specialist. and use acne wash of Neutrogena it really works.
What is your face cleansing routine like? I was advised to do this by a dermatologist and my skin has been great ever since:
1. Don't over-wash your face ... no more than 2 or 3 times a day. Use a gentle mild soap when you wake up in the morning and if you wash it again mid-day. Don't use astringents or harsh drying cleansers as this will cause your skin to react by over-producing oil.
2. Use oil-free moisturizer after every time you wash. You may think it is counter-productive to use moisturizer when your face has natural oils, but as I said above, when your skin is too dry it will compensate by producing its own moisturizer which is oil.
3. At night, use an exfoliant when you wash... do this at night only because you will need the next few hours for your skin to recover from the mild abrasion of the exfoliant. Exfoliating is very important, it removes dead skin cells and allows the skin to regenerate.
4. If your skin is very greasy during the day use rice papers to blot up the grease and make you less shiny. If you use powder it could clog your pores.
It took me about 3 to 4 weeks of this routine before I really started to notice a difference. Skin's been great ever since, and when I get lazy and vary from the routine I break out immediately. I hope it helps...
